Honouring Director Ann Davies, OAM

On 12 June 2023, the King’s Honours List 2023 was announced by the Governor-General.

We are pleased to report that Leigh Place Board Director, Ann Davies, has been recognised with an Order of Australia Medal for her service to aged welfare.

Ann is a tireless volunteer, donating her time, services, and extensive knowledge to a range of charitable organisations and she has made a lasting impact on the aged care sector and on the lives of many elderly Australians.

Ann’s contributions to Leigh Place extend far beyond her role as a Director. Since joining the Board in 2013, she has given freely of her time, sharing skills acquired over many years as a Registered Nurse, Aged Care Chief Executive Officer, assessor, advocate, and educator.

Ann’s background and history are inspirational – a former pilot, ethical counsellor, current Justice of the Peace, host of numerous charitable events, charity volunteer, and ongoing champion of the rights of older Australians, she is a most deserving honouree.

“Ann is a remarkable individual whose contributions to the aged care sector cannot be under-estimated,” said Joe Azzi, Chief Executive Officer.

He spoke on behalf of the staff, residents, and the Board of Directors in congratulating Ann on this recognition.

“Ann is a knowledgeable, hard-working, and generous Director who works determinedly to support the rights of older Australians, and we are extremely lucky to have her as part of the Leigh Place team,” he said.

We take this opportunity to send Ann our heartiest congratulations on her OAM.
